Hallmark Channel bo 3. septembra 2010 ob 21.00 (CET) prenehal z oddajanjem. Skupaj s Slovenijo bo isto doletelo tudi Hrvaško, Srbijo, Črno Goro, BiH, Češko, Slovaško, Madžarsko…
Namesto Hallmark Channel pa bo s predvajanjem pričel Universal Channel. Z Univrsal Channel upravlja mreža Universal Networks International, ki je globalna divizija mreže NBC Universal. Za ukinitev programa so se odločili zaradi rebrandinga. Tako bo mreža imela 5 programov, ti pa bodo Universal Channel,
13th Street Universal, Universal Syfy, Universal Diva in Universal Studio.
Kako pa bo s podnapisi, ki jih Hallmark ima pa bomo videli kmalu.
Del programske sheme bo ostal enak. Tako se bodo iz Hallmarka prenesle npr. McLeodove hčerke (McLeod’s Daughters), Jasnovidke (Medium), Sodnica Amy (Judging Amy). Uvedene bodo tudi nove serije kot so Rookie Blue, The Real Housewives of Orange County in Clara Sheller. Vsekakor pa na samem začetku ni moč pričakovati tako bogate programske sheme kot poljsko/romunski Universal Channel
